India is one of the world's leading producers and exporters of granite. Its stone is found in homes, hotels, offices and public buildings across Asia, the Middle East, Europe and the Americas. There are good reasons for that reach.

A wide range of colours from one country

India's granite deposits are spread across several states, including Rajasthan, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Tamil Nadu. That geological diversity produces an unusually wide palette — deep blacks, warm reds, pinks, greens, greys and whites — so a buyer can often source several colours for one project from a single supplier.

Rajasthan, where Aravali Export and its parent company Bharat Stone are based, has a long tradition of stone quarrying and processing, and a large base of skilled stone workers.

Properties that suit demanding spaces

Granite is an igneous rock made mainly of quartz and feldspar. That composition gives it the qualities architects look for:

  • Hardness and scratch resistance — suitable for busy kitchens, lobbies and high-traffic floors.
  • Heat resistance — a practical choice for kitchen worktops.
  • Durability outdoors — many granites perform well on façades, steps and paving when the right finish is chosen.
  • Relatively low porosity — easier to maintain than many softer natural stones, especially when sealed where recommended.

Where Indian granite is used

Residential

Kitchen countertops and islands, bathroom vanities, flooring and staircases remain the most common uses. Black and white granites suit contemporary interiors, while red granite is often chosen for a warm, distinctive focal point.

Hospitality and commercial

Hotels, restaurants, retail stores and offices use granite for reception counters, lobby floors, wall cladding and washrooms, where it has to look premium and survive heavy use.

Architectural and exterior

With textured finishes, granite is widely used for façades, plazas, steps and landscaping. Its weather resistance makes it a long-term material for public and commercial buildings.

What to consider when sourcing from India

Buying natural stone internationally involves more than picking a colour. A good supplier should help you with:

  • Material approval — samples or slab photos before production, since natural variation is normal.
  • Specification — clear agreement on dimensions, thickness, finish and tolerances.
  • Consistency — sourcing larger orders from matching blocks where possible.
  • Packing — packing suited to the product format and a long sea journey.
  • Communication — a single point of contact who understands both production and export.

The manufacturing connection

Aravali Export is a subsidiary of Bharat Stone, a manufacturing factory in Shahpura, Jaipur, Rajasthan with around 25–30 years of experience. That background means export conversations are grounded in how stone is actually selected, processed and prepared — which helps international buyers make informed decisions.
